Microsoft ALM Summit: Day 1

November 16, 2011

Day 1 of the Microsoft ALM Summit in Redmond was very good. I was able to meet many of the people I have exchanged e-mails with over the last six months and we had some interesting discussions. Hitting some of the highlights of the conference:
Justin Marks, Senior Program Manager in Team Foundation Server,  talked about continuous feedback and demoed a lot of cool features being incorporated into TFS11 including storyboarding, code review and customer feedback. The storyboarding and customer feedback features impressed me quite a bit and I am sure they impress you too when you see them in action.
Brian Harry, Technical Fellow with Microsoft, discussed TFS and the Cloud. He took the audience through his teams experiences with getting the integration right and what it means to us as a future option with TFS.
Martin Woodward,  Senior Program Manager for the Team Foundation Server, gave a great demo on Team Explorer Everywhere on a Mac with Eclipse. It was an impressive showing of how non-Microsoft platforms and development tools could work with TFS.
