Mapping Process Template changes between TFS versions

Last month I asked Willy-Peter Schaub if there was documentation on what changed in the Process Template between Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2008 and TFS2010. He wrote an article on it and it can be viewed on his blog. While there isn’t an existing document for TFS implementations, Willy offered suggestions on how to determine the differences and how these can be used in the TFS Integration Platform if you are doing a migration.

The Process Templates are easy to customize and many organizations take advantage of this feature to align information tracked in TFS to their development processes. As a good practice, customization of the Process Templates should be documented so there is a record of what was changed from the base template.

Maybe future releases of TFS will provide documentation on the changes between versions of the Process Template 🙂
